The Web Developer Intern will report to the Chief Development Officer; will additionally take assignments and communications from the Chief People’s Officer
Job Overview:
The Web Developer Intern learns, assists and works alongside the web development team to update and edit content for the respective brands, creating and editing web page templates and assisting in other web related projects as necessary
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the team to write well designed, testable, efficient codes by using best software development practices
- Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML practices
- Integrate data from various back- end services and databases
- Assist in troubleshooting issues on web based systems
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Assists in creating and maintaining software documentation
- Assist in Onsite analysis of brand websites, report generation on the same and recommendation of any changes to the sites
- Assists in maintaining, expanding and scaling our site
- Researching on emerging technologies/ industry trends and applying them into our operations and activities
- Collaborating with web designers to match visual design intent
- Any other activities as directed by the Chief Development Officer and Chief People’s Officer
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in college studying Computer Science or a related discipline or graduated in these disciplines in the last 6 months
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, WordPress, Google Analytics(Desired)
- Familiar with Web Programming
- Familiar with at least one of the following programming languages-PHP, Javascript or Jquery
- Basic knowledge of how web applications work including security, session management and best development practices
- Demonstrated knowledge and interest in Web development
- Basic knowledge of Social Media Platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
